The Oxfordshire Enterprise Hub
The Oxfordshire Enterprise Hub provides business support to early stage businesses seeking opportunities to grow. This is done by drawing on a wide range of local and regional experts to provide specialist, individual support to help entrepreneurs and knowledge-based companies commercialise innovative products and services.
All Hub services are free of charge. There is no set structure for the support offered by the Hub - every company is different and will need tailored support but it may include the following:
- Assistance with the preparation of business plans.
- Identification of the most appropriate sources of finance.
- Access to IP (intellectual property) advice and a range of other professional services.
- Access to a wealthy pool of business mentors through the Hub Network.
- Access to office premises with flexible terms.
- Access to the most up to date market research.
The Hub Director's role is to champion local businesses. They have no allegiance to any service provider, and no pre-conceived plan for developing businesses, so they are free to draw on whatever support they feel is best for individual businesses. The Hub will work with individuals to produce an action plan for the business and provide support throughout the implementation of the agreed plan and help identify the next steps needed to grow and develop.
In 2006 the Oxfordshire Enterprise Hub helped its companies raised £6.4 M, a third of our companies obtained just under £900,00 from Government Grants, and we prepared a number of our companies to raise Private Equity and other funding for a total of £5.5 M.
The Oxfordshire Enterprise Hub is part of a larger Network of Enterprise Hubs across the South East of England managed by SEEDA (South East England Development Agency). For more information on the Enterprise Hub Network, visit www.enterprisehubnetwork.co.uk.
